Where we come from
IT-Choice – 1990 to today
Since 1990, IT-Choice has been implementing customized software solutions nationwide. We started with a broad range of IT projects in the business sector.
Since 2004, we have been supporting the Hamburg Cancer Registry. Here, we newly specified and implemented the necessary administrative software. This was the foundation for our current specialization in the healthcare sector.
In the following years, we increasingly specialized in the field of cancer registration and today work with many state cancer registries, clinics, research institutes, and other healthcare institutions.
2025: IT-Choice becomes part of the synava Group, an alliance of leading companies in the healthcare IT sector.

IT-Choice wins a public tender for the new development of software for the Hamburg Cancer Registry.
2014
ONKOSTAR tumor documentation system
IT-Choice develops ONKOSTAR, the modern tumor documentation system, together with the German Cancer Research Center and others.
Product Development from 2014
We recognized how significant the development of IT solutions in this context is and made it our mission to focus our entire company expertise on the healthcare IT sector.
Together with the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), the Robert Bosch Hospital Stuttgart, and the University Medical Center Göttingen, IT-Choice developed the tumor documentation system ONKOSTAR in 2014.
Cancer is highly complex. Usually, interdisciplinary teams work together to achieve the best possible treatment for the patient.
Against this background, comprehensive documentation – from diagnosis through treatment to follow-up care – is essential.
An expert group consisting of physicians, experienced medical documentation specialists, and our staff meets regularly for the continuous optimization of ONKOSTAR and to implement necessary adjustments to the latest medical requirements.
At the top of our current agenda is the continuous improvement of digitalization in the healthcare sector.
